Four Girls' Night Ideas for Busy Moms
When you've got a household to run, a family to look after, and possibly a career, it isn't easy to find time to spend with your friends. Yes, it's important, but how do you make time for girls' night out when you're already exhausted from all of your other daily responsibilities? You might have traded in your two-door car for a minivan, also known as the Mom Taxi; you might spend Saturday nights folding laundry instead of clubbing; and your wardrobe might consist mostly of yoga pants and T-shirts, but you don't have to give up your girls' night out traditions. You just have to alter the activities a bit.
Exercise Class
You have to make time for the gym, and you have to make time for your friends, so why not combine the two. One evening per week, take an exercise class as a group. But, choose a fun class. For example, if your friends love dancing, take a zumba class or if your friends need something more relaxing, choose yoga.
Painting Class
For the past few years, painting studios that specialize in night-out events have been popping up all over the United States. The concept is simple. You choose which painting you want to create and schedule the class. The studio uses simple techniques to teach you how to complete the painting to make the experience fun for everyone. While most of these paint studios don't serve food or drinks, they encourage groups to bring their own wine, beer, and/or snacks to the painting party, which makes it a great girls' night out option.
Makeup Party
When is the last time you updated your look? Are you and your friends still rocking your pre-family makeup styles? If it's time for an updated look, host a makeup party so that you and your friends can learn new techniques. Tell your friends to bring all of their makeup and arrive ready to learn new tricks. Spend the evening watching different makeup tutorials on YouTube and trying to replicate the look.
Wine Tasting
If you prefer girls' night in over going out, try hosting a laid-back wine tasting party at your home. All you need to do is purchase several bottles of cheap wine, and ask your guests to bring their favorites so that you have plenty of variety. Set up your wine tasting stations by grouping bottles of like wine together on the table so that guests can find their choice of red, white, and blush wines easily. Make sure you set out plates of snacks and wine glasses. Then, relax and enjoy the evening.
Even though your priorities change when you're a mom, you can still spend time with your friends. All you have to do is find an activity that you can enjoy together and designate one evening each week to girls' night out.
